Can wood wall panels be used outside?

It’s certainly true that during the past two years, our gardens and outdoor spaces have become extensions of our homes, creating a much needed private sanctuary to take us away from the goings-on of the ‘real world’.

Like so many buying trends, there has been a significant surge in the purchasing of outdoor garden furniture, along with hot-tubs and barbeques, which in turn has created a national shortage of gas bottles!

These buying trends, along with frequent enquiries to The Wood Veneer Hub as to which wooden wall panels that we offer are suitable for use outside, have been clear indicators as to how much time people are spending in their own gardens and external areas.

What was once considered an outside space that was planted with flowers and shrubs, is now a place in which to entertain, and as such needs to look the part!

Seamlessly connecting the inside of your home with your outside space isn’t always that easy, and whilst large bi-fold doors leading off from a kitchen, dining room or lounge certainly envelope the external areas, the most cohesive interior and exterior spaces always have a common link.

One of the best ways to ensure continuity between any two connecting spaces is through colour, but rather than limiting yourself into having to opt for a green interior to reflect nature’s colour palette, the easiest way to create a connection is via the materials that you choose.

Whilst the majority of our ranges are only suitable for indoor use, one of our latest collections can be used outside as well.

Eco-Slat is an environmentally friendly alternative to real wood, pioneering the way in incredibly realistic wood plastic composite (WPC) wallcoverings.

Beautiful in appearance, Eco-Slat offers streamlined looks, coupled with uniformity of colour, finite standardisation of dimensions and ease of installation.

Each panel is manufactured from waste products of the woodworking industry, which are recycled and mixed with thermoplastic resins, to create not only a totally sustainable material, but one that is also highly durable and resistant to water, making it completely suitable for use outside.

Suitable for use in both domestic and commercial applications, Eco-Slat features four distinct linear designs of raised slats, separated by narrow self-coloured channels.

These are fixed using an interlocking, ‘snap- together’ design, to create an overall result of uniformity across the entire walls’ surface, and one which closely emulates some of the other wall panelling ranges in The Wood Veneer Hub portfolio.

Offered in white, grey, black, gold and brown, there’s sure to be a colourway to suit your personal taste and indeed your outside area, but also one which will complement any of the other internal use wall panelling collections such as Acupanel®, TimberStik and even Orac Décor®.

Supplied in three metre lengths, like all our ranges, ‘Eco-Slat’ can be fitted both horizontally and vertically, giving you the freedom to customise your exterior homes’ space as well as the interior.

Transform your outdoor living spaces easily with Eco-Slat, the environmentally friendly, exterior wall panelling only available from The Wood Veneer Hub.
