Description

Overview The Acupanel® end piece trims are the perfect addition to finishing your project. The end pieces can be applied seamlessly to the full panels' end to give you a solid wood edge look.

Whilst some prefer to have exposed black edges, others like to have matching wood on the sides.

Our Acupanel® end piece trims are designed to fit the Acoustic Slat Panel range. These are not designed to fit the Luxe or Elegance panels..

Please be aware that the end pieces can sometimes arrive with a slight bend, which is common when veneering a product on one side. We recommend using construction glue, working up from the bottom or top, and straightening them as you go up or down. With strong construction glues, it will then hold the end piece straight in place.

Product update: As of the 26th September 2024, there will be a join line in the black MDF. This is a manufacturing change, and does not affect the veneer surface, or ability to cut and install the trim.

Finish Details Acupanel is proud to offer the UK’s only fully finished acoustic slat panel! It is always advised to finish natural wood to protect it and, more importantly, to make it look even better than it already does. Rather than purchasing a separate tin of oil, save time and money by selecting the finished panel at checkout. You can install it straight on your wall from the box without extra work!

The finish available is a satin oil professionally applied to give an even coating across the panel.

Please be aware that this is a decorative finish, and does not offer protection against water, humidity, heat or UV light. If the panels will be exposed to any of these elements, we recommend using a finish that protects against it.

Installation & Downloads The Acupanel range has been designed to be installed with ease. We recommend either screwing the panels straight into the wall, using the correct fixings, through the acoustic felt or if you are looking to increase the sound properties further, screwing them into batons. If installing on ceilings, the panels can be screwed straight into ceiling joists.

Please be aware that the end pieces can sometimes arrive with a slight bend, which is common when veneering a product on one side. We recommend using construction glue, working up from the bottom or top, and straightening them as you go up or down. With strong construction glues, it will then hold the end piece straight in place.

Frequently asked questions

Engineered wood veneer is made by layering thin slices of natural wood into a block, then re-slicing to create sheets with a uniform grain pattern. It uses real wood throughout and delivers a consistent appearance across every panel, which is why it is used across much of the Acupanel® range.

We do not currently offer Acupanel® in custom sizes. The panels are designed to be cut to size on site with standard tools. For large commercial projects with specific size or finish requirements, please contact our trade team to discuss options.

Yes. When batten-mounted, there is a cavity between the panel and the wall that accommodates cables, wiring, and even recessed sockets. This is one of the practical advantages of the batten installation method, especially for feature walls behind a TV.

Acupanel® is designed for interior use only. For outdoor wall cladding, see our Plaank® composite range or our Nordic Outdoor® thermally modified wood range. Both are engineered for permanent exterior exposure.

Plan cuts so panel edges meet walls, floors, or corner trims, where the cut is concealed by the adjoining surface. Our colour-matched end trims and corner trims cover exposed edges cleanly. Mitre cuts give a professional finish at internal and external corners. Edge construction varies by range, so check each product's technical sheet for the specifics.

Acupanel® panels can be mounted on plasterboard, brick, concrete, and most solid wall surfaces. The wall should be clean, dry, flat, and free from dust. For uneven walls, batten-mounting lets you shim the battens to create a level surface before fitting the panels.

Acupanel® panels can be cut widthways or lengthways with a fine-tooth saw to fit around plug sockets, light switches, and window frames. Measure carefully and cut from the back of the panel to keep the veneer face clean. Our colour-matched trims cover any visible edges.

Acupanel® panels are suitable for kitchens and well-ventilated bathrooms, provided they are not in direct contact with water, high heat or moisture. We recommend applying a protective sealant in high-moisture areas. For wet zones like shower enclosures, use our waterproof wall panels instead.

We offer free delivery to mainland UK on most orders. Delivery to Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, and offshore islands incurs a surcharge calculated at checkout. You are also welcome to collect from our warehouse in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.

You can return unused products within 30 days of delivery. Items must be in their original, undamaged packaging. Refunds are processed once we receive and inspect the return. For full terms including sample returns, visit our returns page or contact our customer service team.

We photograph every product as accurately as possible. Because we use real wood and natural materials, subtle variations in grain pattern and tone occur between production batches. This is a characteristic of genuine wood, not a defect. We always recommend ordering a sample to confirm the colour and texture in your own lighting.

Acupanel® FAQ

How do the panels arrive?

The Acupanel wall panels are shipped in boxes - if more than one panel is ordered, we pack two panels to a box.

Do the panels come in larger sizes?

All of our panels are available in a 240cm x 60cm size, with a selection of our panels are available in 300cm x 60cm and 360cm x 60cm sizes. Our new 120cm and 200cm shorter panels are also available in select finishes.

How do I install the panels?

If you are looking to obtain a class A sound absorption, then we recommend installing the panels with batons. However, if you would like to have them for decorative purposes while still providing some sound absorption, we recommend screwing the panels directly into the wall through the acoustic felt backing using Black or Grey screws, depending on your choice of backing.

Do you produce custom panel sizes?

We do not currently offer the panels in custom sizes; however, we have designed them to be easily cut if you need smaller. They also join together seamlessly if you need bigger.

Can the panels be used in a bathroom or kitchen?

The panels will be absolutely fine in these areas, as long as they are not in direct contact with water. We do recommend applying a water-resistant finish to the front of the slats to protect them against any moisture or humidity wherever possible though.

Can the acoustic panels be used outside?

The Acupanel range is designed for interior use only.

What do I do if I have plug sockets, windows or other items to install around?

It is straightforward to adjust the panels to fit around any object. You can cut the slats widthways with a saw, and you can cut the felt lengthways with a sharp blade to then apply around any item you may have on your surface.

On which surfaces can I install the panels?

You can mount the panels on all surfaces including brick, concrete and plasterboard.

What is an Engineered Veneer?

Engineered wood veneer is a man-made veneer, created by layering thin slices of natural wood veneer into a block, and slicing it to create a new grain pattern. It offers a cost-effective, consistent and sustainabe finish compared to solid wood veneer. It's favored for its stability and consistency in appearance, and suitability for various interior applications such as furniture, cabinetry, and wall coverings.

Do the colours of the pictures look like the panels in real life?

The wood used is always from the same source so they will always look more or less the same. It is natural wood, however, so knots, slight cracks and colour variations can occur. Get in touch if you would like us to send you pictures of the exact batch you could potentially receive.

How can I hide the edges of the trim?

The coloured end trims are not wrapped on the ends so if you are wanting to do a half wall panel with a trim, we suggest another vertical trim to cover the exposed edge.

Can I hide wires behind the panels?

You certainly can!

Can I apply anything behind the panels to increase sound insulation?

If installing with batons, then you can use mineral wool or other sound insulation material in-between the gaps which will increase the sound absorption properties even more.

Why should I opt for a finished panel?

It is always advised to finish natural wood to protect it and, more importantly, to make it look even better than it already does. We now offer a decorative satin oil-finished panel for our Contemporary Oak and Contemporary Walnut panels, to take out the hassle of finishing the panels yourself. Please note that this is a decorative finish only, providing no protection against heat, water or humidity.

Do you deliver the panels?

We do, and we offer free delivery to mainland UK for the Acupanel range! You are also welcome to collect directly from our warehouse.

What is your return policy?

You can return unused Acupanels within 30 days after delivery.

Are samples available?

Yes, you can purchase a sample by clicking here.
