Enhances the natural tone and beauty of the wood grain. Overview We’re proud to offer the Osmo® Polyx®-Oil Original, the original hardwax finishing oil. Perfect for all interior projects, the Polyx®-Oil Original is available in matt, satin and gloss finishes, to achieve any sheen level you desire. Offered in a 375ml tin, this tin will cover three of our Acupanel® 240cm panels, with the recommended two coats for optimal protection.
The oil itself is water, dirt and abrasion-resistant, which is great for furniture applications, as well as flooring. As the oil is saliva-resistant and sweatproof, it can also be used to finish children’s products with little maintenance. With a fast drying time, and minimal prep work, the Polyx®-Oil Original is the go-to finish for many.

Installation & Downloads There are a few stages to applying the Polyx®-Oil Original Oil Finish.
Prepare your surface: ensure your wood surface is clean and dry before applying the finish, removing any stains and surface grime. Where relevant, sand off old paints and lacquers to ensure an even surface finish. Fill in any large holes or cracks in the wood, and brush off any excess dust and filler.
Application: apply a thin, even layer of the oil with a microfiber roller or a light rag. Allow to dry for 8-10 hours in a well-ventilated area.
Reapplication: we recommend applying two coats of oil, to ensure the wood is protected as best as possible from knocks, water and dirt. Apply a second thin layer after the initial drying period, and allow to dry again for 8-10 hours.
Fully Cured: the oil can take 2-3 weeks to fully cure.
