Acupanel and ‘Brave Ground’, the Dulux Colour of the Year for 2021

Acupanel and ‘Brave Ground’, the Dulux Colour of the Year for 2021

Last week, Dulux announced its Colour of the Year for 2021 as ‘Brave Ground™’, an earthy neutral shade with a distinctly warm feel.

Every year, the colour forecasters and trend prediction companies work with Dulux to advise and decide on the Colour of the Year, something Dulux has done since 2004.

In a similar way, when we are sourcing new veneers or adding wooden wall panelling finishes to a current range, we look at the current and future trend predictions in interiors and fashion, before making our final choices.

It is no surprise to us that ‘Brave Ground™’ has been chosen, as it’s from the same palette of colours as many of our mid toned woods are.

Marianne Shillingford, Dulux UK's Creative Director has described ‘Brave Ground™’ as being the ‘mother earth’ of all colours, as it pairs and complements with so many different colour palettes. It’s an instantly soothing and familiar colour that shows off other colours to their best advantage, whilst providing the foundation shade to the overall colour scheme.

In fact, in much the same way, our mid toned Acupanel products also provide the perfect backdrop to so many interior schemes… It’s just one of the many reasons why Acupanel is so popular!

Further commenting on the Colour of the Year choice, Marianne explained "The colours on our walls are the backdrop to how we live our life. For many of us, lockdown has served to emphasise how important our home environment has become. It has been the place where we work, learn and relax, lifting us up, whilst nurturing and comforting us. We continue to live through uncertain times, so the grounding tones of Brave Ground™ will allow us to feel confident to adapt to the ever changing circumstances we face."

We certainly share Marianne Shillingford sentiments. There has been a huge surge in people wanting to update their homes, and especially the interiors of them. It wasn’t so long ago that there was a problem with the supply of paint.

Homeowners eager to update or re-decorate a room in their home, who either didn’t want to wait for paint, or who were keen to find out more about alternative wallcoverings, looked to companies such as The Wood Veneer Hub for alternative solutions.

As well as offering many mid toned, wooden wall panelling products, Acupanel is also available in Grey and Black, which look equally as striking with Brave Ground™.

Our sampling service allows you to ‘try before you buy’, so if you’re thinking of updating a room in your home and like the look of Brave Ground™, but simply don’t want to use paint, look no further than Acupanel and add glamour as well as colour to your walls!
