Overview Acupanel® is a beautifully designed wood strip decorative wall and ceiling panel which boasts high-quality acoustic properties. The panels can be easily applied to walls and ceilings, be it for domestic or commercial use. Modern styling personified in every way.

The Acupanel® Standard range is produced with a quality, smooth engineered wood veneer finish, designed to have a consistent grain finish. Lamella strips with a clean, modern appearance are mounted onto a uniquely designed, recycled acoustic felt material. Fast and simple installation allows you to quickly transform any space.

Our Acupanel® Premium range is the next step in luxury wood wall panelling. Featuring a real wood veneer finish, this panel range celebrates the natural textures and grain patterns you find in nature. Incorporate the beauty of real wood into your home today with our Premium range offering. If you're looking to oil the panels yourself, we strongly recommend opting for this panel, to have the most consistent oiled finish.

Why not elevate your space further, and opt for our Acupanel® Premium Oiled range. We are proud to offer the UK’s only fully finished acoustic slat wood wall and ceiling panel, removing the need to do this yourself. You can install it straight on your wall from the box, with no extra work needed!

Please call prior to ordering a mix of different sized panels, as they may be from different batches, and there may be some colour variation because of this.

Finish Details Acupanel® is proud to offer the UK’s only fully finished acoustic slat panel! Our standard panel is not suitable for oiling, as the engineered wood can result in an uneven finish. Opt for the pre-finished premium oiled panel to save time and money. Install straight from the box without extra work!

Each panel is professionally coated with a satin oil finish for a smooth, even appearance.

Please be aware that this is a decorative finish, and does not offer protection against water, humidity, heat or UV light. If the panels will be exposed to any of these elements, we recommend using a finish that protects against it.

If you are looking to oil the panels yourself, we strongly recommend oiling the Acupanel® Premium panels, to enhance the grain and give the best finish.

Installation & Downloads The Acupanel® range has been designed to be installed with ease. We recommend either screwing the panels straight into the wall, using the correct fixings, through the acoustic felt or if you are looking to increase the sound properties further, screwing them into batons. If installing on ceilings, the panels can be screwed straight into ceiling joists.

When cutting your panels, it's important to check where you are cutting in relation to the backing staples. If you cut the panels close to the staples, you may notice some slats lifting away from the backing where the panel has been cut. This is completely normal and is quickly rectified by adding additional staples through the backing felt or using a grab adhesive on the back of the slats.

What sets it apart

Acoustic performance

Recycled PET felt core absorbs mid-range frequencies where voices carry. Reduces echo and reverberation without secondary treatment.

Real wood. Always.

Hand-selected real wood veneer, never vinyl wrap or printed grain. Each panel carries natural variation in tone and texture.

Easy to install

Adhesive or screw-fix direct to wall. No subframe, no specialist tools. Most rooms completed in a day.

Residential and commercial

Specified by architects, fitted by homeowners. Same panel, same finish, same result. From living rooms to hotel lobbies.

Sizes for every wall

From 120cm to 360cm lengths. Choose the size that reduces cuts and waste for your specific wall dimensions.

Recycled felt backing

Acoustic backing made from recycled PET. The same material that performs acoustically keeps the material loop closed. Each panel diverts plastic bottles from landfill.

Crafted from real wood, engineered for modern living.

Real wood veneer over a recycled acoustic felt core. The grain is the wood it came from, not a print of it, so no two panels repeat and the wall reads differently at breakfast than it does at dusk.

The felt does the quiet work. It softens echo, takes the hard edge off a room with a lot of glass or plaster, and warms the surface to the touch. Our team has worked in surface materials for 50 years, from homes to the high-end automotive and marine industry. The same eye for grain and finish runs through every Acupanel® range.

Frequently asked questions

Acupanel® panels can be fitted with construction adhesive, screws, or battens. For the best acoustic performance, we recommend batten-mounting with mineral wool insulation in the cavity behind. Full step-by-step installation guides are available on each product page, covering how to fit acoustic panels to any wall type.

Acupanel® panels can be cut widthways or lengthways with a fine-tooth saw to fit around plug sockets, light switches, and window frames. Measure carefully and cut from the back of the panel to keep the veneer face clean. Our colour-matched trims cover any visible edges.

Acupanel® panels can be mounted on plasterboard, brick, concrete, and most solid wall surfaces. The wall should be clean, dry, flat, and free from dust. For uneven walls, batten-mounting lets you shim the battens to create a level surface before fitting the panels.

Plan cuts so panel edges meet walls, floors, or corner trims, where the cut is concealed by the adjoining surface. Our colour-matched end trims and corner trims cover exposed edges cleanly. Mitre cuts give a professional finish at internal and external corners. Edge construction varies by range, so check each product's technical sheet for the specifics.

Acupanel® is designed for interior use only. For outdoor wall cladding, see our Plaank® composite range or our Nordic Outdoor® thermally modified wood range. Both are engineered for permanent exterior exposure.

Yes. When batten-mounted, there is a cavity between the panel and the wall that accommodates cables, wiring, and even recessed sockets. This is one of the practical advantages of the batten installation method, especially for feature walls behind a TV.

Yes. When fitting acoustic panels with battens, you can place mineral wool or acoustic insulation in the cavity behind the panel. This significantly improves sound absorption and gives the strongest result the system offers, beyond the measured NRC 0.75 of the batten-mounted panels alone. It also adds a layer of thermal insulation to the wall.

We do not currently offer Acupanel® in custom sizes. The panels are designed to be cut to size on site with standard tools. For large commercial projects with specific size or finish requirements, please contact our trade team to discuss options.

Engineered wood veneer is made by layering thin slices of natural wood into a block, then re-slicing to create sheets with a uniform grain pattern. It uses real wood throughout and delivers a consistent appearance across every panel, which is why it is used across much of the Acupanel® range.

Kitchens are fine away from direct water. For bathrooms and wet rooms choose Acupanel® Hydro, built for steam and splashes; standard wood veneer panels prefer dry rooms.

Our warehouse and display area in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire is open for visits by appointment. Contact us to arrange a time so we can have the right products and samples ready for you to see in person.

Yes. Samples are available across most product ranges so you can see and feel the real material before committing. Acoustic panel, wood veneer, and cork tile samples can all be ordered. Order as many as you need, and when you place your panel order we refund the cost of your samples. Check individual product pages for availability.
