Acupanel® Metal Bronze Acoustic Wall Panels

Acupanel® panels can be mounted on plasterboard, brick, concrete, and most solid wall surfaces. The wall should be clean, dry, flat, and free from dust. For uneven walls, batten-mounting lets you shim the battens to create a level surface before fitting the panels.

Yes. When batten-mounted, there is a cavity between the panel and the wall that accommodates cables, wiring, and even recessed sockets. This is one of the practical advantages of the batten installation method, especially for feature walls behind a TV.

Acupanel® panels can be cut widthways or lengthways with a fine-tooth saw to fit around plug sockets, light switches, and window frames. Measure carefully and cut from the back of the panel to keep the veneer face clean. Our colour-matched trims cover any visible edges.

We do not currently offer Acupanel® in custom sizes. The panels are designed to be cut to size on site with standard tools. For large commercial projects with specific size or finish requirements, please contact our trade team to discuss options.

Engineered wood veneer is made by layering thin slices of natural wood into a block, then re-slicing to create sheets with a uniform grain pattern. It uses real wood throughout and delivers a consistent appearance across every panel, which is why it is used across much of the Acupanel® range.

Plan cuts so panel edges meet walls, floors, or corner trims, where the cut is concealed by the adjoining surface. Our colour-matched end trims and corner trims cover exposed edges cleanly. Mitre cuts give a professional finish at internal and external corners. Edge construction varies by range, so check each product's technical sheet for the specifics.

Yes. When fitting acoustic panels with battens, you can place mineral wool or acoustic insulation in the cavity behind the panel. This significantly improves sound absorption and can help achieve Class A acoustic performance. It also adds a layer of thermal insulation to the wall.

To achieve Class A sound absorption, install Acupanel® panels on 45mm timber battens with Rockwool or similar mineral wool insulation packed in the cavity behind. Without battens or insulation, panels still absorb sound but at a lower rating. Batten-mounted alone reaches NRC 0.75; full Class A needs the insulation.

Classic panels use a 27mm slat profile with 13mm spacing. This is the standard acoustic slat. Luxe uses a wider 40mm profile with 10mm spacing, giving a bolder architectural rhythm at scale. Both share the same recycled acoustic felt core. Luxe Natural is supplied pre-oiled.

No. Polished Gold uses a protected mirror finish, and the brushed Metal range (Gold, Bronze, Aluminium) uses a foil-wrap finish that will not oxidise or tarnish under normal indoor conditions. Avoid abrasive cleaners to preserve the surface.

Acupanel® Metal panels are not fire-rated in their standard form. For projects requiring a fire classification, see the Acupanel® Fire-Rated range, which carries B-s1, d0 certification to EN 13501-1:2018.
