Sustainability – the ethos behind everything we do!

It’s probably no surprise that we love everything about wood!

From the way it grows, creating unique, intricate patterns through its growth rings and knots, to its many properties, enabling it to be made into furniture and floorboards, to paper thin veneer, its potential uses really are ‘literally endless!’.

Created by nature rather than made-made does mean that there isn’t an infinite supply! All too often, products such as these are over harvested, with little regard for the sustainability of each.

Being sustainable is one of our top priorities when we are choosing a new product or range to add to our portfolio.

Each product must be responsibly harvested, and wherever possible have an FSC© certification.

One of our latest products that is both responsibly harvested and FSC© accredited is Acupanel.

Available with either a rustic surface, created by embossing the veneer face so that it looks and feels like solid wood, or with a smooth, sleek finish, perfect for any contemporary interior, each panel is suitable for use in both residential and commercial applications.

As well as its stunning looks, one of the greatest properties of Acupanel is its superior sound absorption!

At first glance, it may not be evident, but each individual Lamella slat is mounted onto a unique, felt like backing, and it’s this material that offers the acoustic properties.

Remarkably, this material is actually made from recycled plastic bottles, which would otherwise end up as landfill or in our oceans, And likewise, all of the wood is sourced from sustainable forests, making Acupanel both super attractive and environmentally friendly.

Acupanel is designed for ease of installation too! The panels can be fixed either directly to a wall or ceiling, as long as it’s relatively smooth and solid, or attached via batons, with the option to add a sandwich of insulation, which will further add to the acoustic properties.

With five rustic and a further five contemporary finishes, however you are looking to use Acupanel, you can be sure that it has been sustainably sourced, responsibly harvested and kind to the environment!
