London Plane Tree Burl Wood Veneer
Wood Veneer Description
London Plane Tree Burl veneer displays warm tones ranging from whitish-sapwood through yellowish or light red-brown, to rich reddish-brown heartwood. Its most distinctive feature is the cluster or burl figure—swirling, highly decorative, irregular patterns and burl “eyes” set against a more uniform background. The veneer also often shows flecks or rays that add sparkle and depth, especially when quartersawn or in lacewood form. The texture is fine, and the grain can range from straight to interlocked depending on how it’s cut.
Burl cuts (sometimes rotary or cluster/“planetree cluster”) accentuate the dramatic figuring. When finished, this veneer brings striking visual interest and character to surfaces—ideal when you want a focal point or decorative statement.
Please note: Width measurements are taken at the sheet’s midpoint; natural tapering may result in widths slightly above or below the stated measurements. Allow an extra few centimetres, or contact us for exact dimensions.
