Overview

The Acupanel® Luxe Plus Fire-Rated Acoustic Slat Wall Panel collection is a wide-format, fire-rated slat panel built for commercial interiors. Fire compliance, acoustic performance, and finished presence, in a single specification.

The Luxe Plus Fire-Rated builds on the standard Acupanel® Fire-Rated range, with a wider slat format and redesigned spacing. Ten slats across the panel give the wall a bolder, more architectural read than the standard profile. The adjusted spacing was developed specifically for the Acupanel® Glow LED Lighting range, so the panel works as an integrated lighting system, not just a surface finish.

Complementing our existing Fire-Rated range, this panel achieves a B-s2, d0 rating against BS EN 13501-1 Reaction to Fire testing. Installed to the full specification, the panels also achieve a Class A acoustic rating, reducing echo and reverberation across the space. Slats are fully wrapped in genuine oak veneer, the same specification used across the Acupanel® range. The finish carries the depth, grain, and warmth of real wood, with no compromise to fire performance.

The Luxe Plus Fire-Rated suits commercial interiors that ask for performance and presence in the same brief. Hotel lobbies, hospitality venues, corporate offices, retail spaces, and multi-residential developments. Whether the install is a feature wall, full-room, or ceiling, the panel meets the brief on both compliance and finish.

Installation & Downloads

The Acupanel® Luxe Plus range has been designed to be installed with ease. To achieve the full B-s2, d0 fire rating and Class A acoustic rating, install panels on a gypsum plasterboard substrate rated A1 or A2 to BS EN 13501-1, with 45mm battens and acoustic insulation material. Leave no air gap.

If installing for fire-rating benefits only, the 45mm battens and acoustic insulation are not required. Install straight onto a suitable substrate, with no air gap. Valid for vertical and horizontal slat installations.

Do not apply paints or finishes to the panel. Doing so invalidates the fire rating.

When cutting your panels, it's important to check where you are cutting in relation to the backing staples. If you cut the panels close to the staples, you may notice some slats lifting away from the backing where the panel has been cut. This is completely normal and can be quickly rectified by adding additional staples through the backing felt or using a grab adhesive on the back of the slats.

There's a moment when the light drops in a room and everything shifts. The Acupanel® Glow LED strips were made for that moment. Sitting neatly within the gap between your slats, they're almost invisible when off — and quietly transformative when on. Acupanel® Luxe Fire-Rated Panel FAQ

How do the panels arrive?

The Acupanel® wall panels are shipped in boxes - if more than one panel is ordered, we pack two panels to a box. For bulk fire-rated panel orders, they may be delivered on pallets or on our dedicated van service. If you have any specific packaging requirements for your panels, please contact our sales team to place your order.

Do you deliver the panels?

Yes, we do. Free delivery to mainland UK on the Acupanel® Luxe Plus Fire-Rated range. You can also collect directly from our Leighton Buzzard warehouse - please give us a call ahead of time so we can make sure your order is ready.

Do I need a fully fire-rated panel?

In some instances, fire-rated panels are requested as they are specified for a project. This might be because they will be on a fire escape route, or in a government building, where materials used need to meet certain standards. A fully-fire rated panel is more commonly found in commercial spaces, but it doesn't mean you can't find them in your home. If you want extra security and peace of mind in case of a fire, you may choose to opt for our fully fire-rated panel, that contribute little to no smoke if they ignite.

What is the difference between the Acupanel® Luxe Plus Fire-Rated and the Acupanel® Fire-Rated panel collection?

The Acupanel® Fire-Rated panel uses the same slat profile as the core Acupanel® Wood and Luxe ranges. The Luxe Plus Fire-Rated uses a wider slat format, with ten slats across the panel, and an adjusted spacing developed specifically for the Acupanel® Glow LED Lighting range. The Luxe Plus carries a B-s2, d0 fire rating with a solid MGO core, with the rest of the Acupanel® Fire-Rated range having a B-s1, d0 rating, and a plywood core. The Luxe Plus Fire-Rated is the only wrapped slat fire-rated option in our current collection.

Are the panels suitable for commercial projects?

Yes. The Acupanel® Luxe Plus Fire-Rated range is built for commercial specification. Suited to hotels, hospitality, corporate offices, retail, and multi-residential developments where fire code compliance is required.

Are the panels for indoor use only?

Yes. The Acupanel® Luxe Plus Fire-Rated panels are rated for interior use only. Do not install as part of an exterior application.

Can the panels be used in residential projects?

Yes. The range is primarily built for commercial specification, but the panels also work in residential projects where a higher level of fire protection is desired or required.

Can the panels be used in a bathroom or kitchen?

The panels will be absolutely fine in these areas, as long as they are not in direct contact with water. An additional water-resistant finish is recommended for fitting in high humidity or high moisture areas, however, please contact our sales team prior to applying an additional finish to your fire-rated panels to ensure you do not invalidate the fire-rating.

What fire rating do the panels carry?

The Luxe Plus panels carry a B-s2, d0 against BS EN 13501-1 Reaction to Fire testing. Suitable for commercial projects where fire compliance is required.

What acoustic rating do the panels carry?

The panels can achieve a class A acoustic rating, when installed to the full specification: a gypsum plasterboard substrate rated A1 or A2 to BS EN 13501-1, 45mm battens, acoustic insulation material, and no air gap.

Do the colours of the pictures look like the panels in real life?

The wood used is always from the same source so they will always look more or less the same. It is natural wood, however, so knots, slight cracks and colour variations can occur. Get in touch if you would like us to send you pictures of the exact batch you could potentially receive.

What are the full installation requirements to achieve the fire and acoustic ratings?

Install on a gypsum plasterboard substrate rated A1 or A2 to BS EN 13501-1, with 45mm battens and acoustic insulation material. Leave no air gap. For fire-rating benefits only, the battens and acoustic insulation are not required. Install straight onto a suitable substrate, with no air gap. Are the panels suitable for ceiling installations?

Yes. The fire rating is valid for both vertical and horizontal slat installations. Use on walls and ceilings, provided the installation meets the substrate and build-up specification.

What do I do if I have plug sockets, windows or other items to install around?

It is straightforward to adjust the panels to fit around any object. You can cut the slats widthways with a saw, and you can cut the felt lengthways with a sharp blade to then apply around any item you may have on your surface. When installing the panels on battens, you may need to use deeper plug boxes, to keep your sockets flush with the panelling.

Which accessories are compatible with the Luxe Plus Fire-Rated?

The Luxe Plus Fire-Rated is compatible with the Acupanel® Glow Strip LED Lighting range only. The slat spacing was developed specifically for Glow Strip LEDs, and other Acupanel® accessories are not compatible with this panel. Do the panels work with Acupanel® Glow LED Lighting?

Yes. The slat spacing on the Luxe Plus Fire-Rated was developed specifically for the Acupanel® Glow Strip LED Lighting range. The Glow LEDs integrate directly into the install, for a clean, illuminated finish. The Acupanel® Glow Strip LED range is the only lighting product compatible with this panel at this time.

Are the panels available in other finishes beyond oak and walnut?

The Luxe Plus Fire-Rated range is currently available in oak and walnut real wood veneer finishes. In our wider Acupanel® Fire-Rated collection, there are a range of other colours also available, including grey and smoked oak finished. For a specific finish requirement, contact our team and we'll advise on options.

Can I paint or apply a finish to the panels after installation?

No. Adding paint or finish voids the fire rating. The panels arrive ready to install, and should be used as supplied. If you wish to apply additional finishes, such as a UV stabiliser, please speak to our customer care team, who can advise you further.

Can I obtain fire rating documentation for specification purposes?

Yes. Fire rating certification and technical documentation are available on request. Contact our team and we'll send the paperwork for your project specification.

What is your return policy?

You can return unused panels within 30 days of delivery. If a panel arrives defective, or you have questions before installing, our customer service team can help. Please get in touch directly via phone, email, or our live chat.

Do you offer samples?

Yes. You can buy a sample here to confirm the finish before specifying. The sample cost is fully refunded against a relevant Acupanel® panel order.
